Testimonials

Here is how CCRI
has helped my spouse and I. My spouse, Kyle, has an individual named
“Jim,” who comes three days a week to help him. He helps
my spouse with personal hygiene, encourages him to look nice, and
gives him projects to do in between his visits. So far, my husband
has completed 11 projects this past summer, and accomplished 98%
of it by himself. This has helped my husband tremendously.
My husband suffers
from severe depression and has the beginning stages of Alzhiemer’s
disease. My husband looks forward to “his Jim” coming
every week. If Jim is late, he worries about him. Jim & Kyle
go out for coffee, do one on one therapy, talk about guy stuff,
etc. My husband actually went to the summer 2004 CCRI picnic and
had fun. This was something we had never done before.
The help CCRI gives
my husband has helped me a lot also. I’m able to tell Jim
any concerns I may have or ways on how to best help Kyle. Jim is
a good listener and is able to give me suggestions. I now can get
my husband to go grocery shopping with me, as my walking isn’t
good. He can’t shop, but helps me. This is also something
else he never did before.
We are still struggling
with the problems, but CCRI has helped and been a God send for us.
I wouldn’t have made it this far without CCRI. So…with
the medicine my husband is taking & with the help from CCRI
we are coming around. I’d recommend CCRI to anyone who has
a disability, as they not only help the individual, but help their
family as well.

Member of a Person who Receives Services at CCRI
 Our
daughter, Rachel, was diagnosed shortly after birth with profound
mental retardation and mild cerebral palsy. When she turned twenty,
and was soon to complete her education at Moorhead High School,
we knew it was time for her to move out of our home and begin to
develop her own life as an adult, but we didnt really know
how we could accomplish that.
Then we heard about
CCRI and the services they provide. With their help, the dreams
we have for Rachels life are coming true. CCRI services enable
her to live in her own home and be an active member of the community.
CCRI first sought to determine what Rachels needs and desires
were and then tailored their services to provide the support she
needed to accomplish these things. When Rachel changes, they change.
Their attitude is one of person first.
We are very pleased
with the services provided by CCRI and highly recommend them to
anyone looking for supportive services for a family member.
