TheArcLink
TheArcLink
announces the launch of New York, Ohio and Massachusetts into its
database of services and providers. These additions mean that over
half of the United States population can find in one place how the
disability service system works in their state and can find information
on providers, advocacy services, state-specific news, updates and
opinion. Other states now included on TheArcLink
are Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana, Minnesota, Maryland,
New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma and Tennessee.
We wish to acknowledge the hard work of all the people
and supporters who have made these additions possible, particular
the staff members of NYSARC, The Arc of Massachusetts and The Arc
of Ohio.
We are also grateful for the financial sponsorship
of NYSARC, The John W. Alden Trust, the Agnes M. Lindsay Trust,
the New York Community Trust-Baird Family Fund, the Ohio Department
of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities and the Ohio
Legal Rights Service.
Please encourage your organization to include a link
to www.TheArcLink.org on
its web page as well as in newsletters and other material, and encourage
people with developmental disabilities and their family members
and friends to visit TheArcLink.
If you are a provider and wish to review your listing, send an email
to review@thearclink.org with the provider name and the state you
are in.
TheArcLink
had 2,666 visitors last week. Our estimates are that 40% of our
visitors are individuals and families, 15% are state officials,
15% are in the educational system and 30% are providers.
Also, please visit TheArcLinks
Calendar, which is at www.TheArcLink.org,
where there are now more than 600 events listed nationwide. TheArcLink
Calendar is a free public service available to any organization
that sponsors disability-related events. If you want to register
your organization to post events on the Calendar, go to http://www.thearclink.org/calendar/signUp.asp
to sign up.
