Sounds like the crack of the bat and the spitting of sunflower seeds are what recreational Softball leagues are all about. The warm smiles that come along with rounding first base and the joyous laughter in the occasional swing and miss embody the fun spirit of the game.
The Red River Valley Adaptive Softball League allows for those with disabilities to enjoy all of the fun in the experience of playing softball. Registration is now open for participation and we are looking for volunteers to fill coaching and score-keeping positions. Registration forms are available at the CCRI office in Moorhead. If you are interested in volunteering, click here for more information.
This opportunity is not just exclusive for CCRI clients, you are eligible to play if you are 12 years of age or older. The games will be played on Sunday evenings at 5 P.M. at the Centennial Softball Complex starting in June. The registration fee is $25 and needs to be turned in to Mercedes Eke at CCRI by May 5, 2017. The season will last 5 games, and we are hoping to form six Clay County/Moorhead teams to play this year. Final dates will be determined when the team rosters are sent out.
The season will conclude with a picnic alongside the FM RedHawks followed by an evening spent watching the RedHawks game.
